reflections and things

Being pregnant has been a lot better than I thought it would be. Let's get real, I mean I hardly get nauseous any more and I never threw up. Now that I'm bigger I don't sleep through the night most nights and I have to visit the bathroom a bit more frequently. All and all it hasn't been that bad.

Don't worry though, every time I talk to someone about it or mention a few "issues" I have they proceed to go on about how everything will get worse. It's all very uplifting. I think I hear on a daily basis: "Oh, you think you're big now-just wait; you're going to get huge!" "Get sleep now because you'll never sleep again." "It's only going to get worse." "Labor is the worst!" Seriously people? I try to avoid talking to anyone about it because it's just upsetting.

Alex and I are well aware of the major and eternal changes that are going to come but we are focusing on the the positive ones. I think being away from my immediate family and best friends makes it hard to have some real encouragement.

So I guess this blog is just me crying out for some nice words and things to look forward to throughout the end of my pregnancy and baby's arrival but to those family and friends who have been supportive and kind-thank you. And I'll throw in a few belly shots and some of the small milestones involving our little one that have happened lately: Alex felt Baby Peach move in my belly, I saw my belly move today from her wiggles and I got baby girl a super cute swim suit on clearance! Yippee!

  2. I enjoyed every minute of my pregnancy and I actually threw up a few times (and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes so I had to kiss my sweets goodbye). It might be because it took us almost 5 years to get pregnant, but I seriously had no complaints. Then, when Natalie was born, the husband and I were pleasantly surprised. We had been given all of those same *warnings* you got, and when she was finally hear, we literally said, "Why do people complain so much? This is easy...and fun!" And it was/is! I don't, however, suggest adopting another newborn 6 months later. That's when life got hard....still fun, but oh so hard! Haha. You guys will do great!
