October Occurrences

Having this baby has consumed my thoughts, energy and time...so my blogging has been slacking.
I apologize.
This will be a quick review of the things we've been up to:

Since moving here to Georgia, where Alex grew up, we've been able to spend some time with his childhood BFF Jake and his cute wife and their adorable son. They live not too far away in a beautiful house where they invited us to do some pumpkin carving and for us ladies, painting. It was so much fun; I think we watched a movie but I know we ate some delicious cookies!
Alex carved another Falcon pumpkin (he did it last year) and I painted a Frankenstein that turned out looking like a lego head...it was great and we proudly put them on our porch with the "Cinderella Pumpkin" (a blue pumpkin) Alex's parents got for us at a pumpkin patch.
I don't know of any better looking pumpkins!

On a date night Alex and I swung by the dollar tree and picked something out for each other to craft. I got a sudoku puzzle book-which I love! And Alex a little elephant bank to paint. He did a super good job with the super cheap paint and we decided that Baby Peach will love her elephant piggy bank.

Isn't he the cutest?

We got a 4D sonogram done by the grace of our lovely friend and nurse and it was awesome! Baby girl was squished and never really too photogenic but we did get to see her cute little face with a button nose and little duck lips-she's going to be so cute and I love her so much!

look at those lips!

Since my birthday is on the 29th and I'll be going to Texas the 30th we decided to celebrate the weekend before. Let me just say that I hate being away from Alex and never have overnight and I'm really upset he can't go with me. Anyway, for my birthday we went to the used bookstore and got some great books, ventured to the temple, ate at Chuys (a taste of heaven!) and got some small canvas' and paints for crafting! This month really was very craft filled. It was a blast and I hope to get better at documenting things when they happen...wish me luck!

One of my awesome books-I finished it in one day and it was from the "free" bin of the bookstore!
It was a complete thriller and I highly recommend it.

My painting! It's a small summary of my 23rd year of life: graduate, move, baby, etc.

Other than those things I got a care package from my lovely friend who's also expecting a girl-it was the best! We went to a corn maze/pumpkin patch with Jake and his wife. We played at the park and got our first frost of winter on our cars that went away very quickly. Gotta love October!

staying busy

The past little while I've been very interested and excited about doing crafts around the house. It started with a wreath for the front door. We really need a brand new door but the wreath is a faster, cheaper and easier fix!

my first home craft!
Another thing we've tried to do this month is budget better by managing our meals and planning them! It was actually pretty exciting to plan something out but we may have missed a few meals and not planned date nights into the schedule so we're still refining it. My first meal was a yummy roast with carrots and potatoes! I think I'm impressing Alex with my new domestic endeavors.

roastin' in my winning bunco apron
We also have been the recipients of some freebies from a dear lady in the ward! We got a great pack n play for Baby, a secondary stroller and a baby bath! I've really been wanting a pack n play for when we visit relatives and hopeful mini trips to places, so it's been a a wonderful blessing!

we love freebies
And finally; I'm 29 weeks, and getting bigger and more uncomfortable everyday but doing great otherwise! I'm starting to waddle I think and getting really self conscious-there are so many changes going on in my body I just can't believe it! But I'm so excited to be having a baby girl here and wiggling around in my arms and not my belly! She's going to be so cute and good and hopefully just like her daddy. I love them.

fall fall fall

October 1st marked a few lovely milestones:
Emily's favorite month-leaves change, the weather cools, her birthday, etc.
passing of the glucose test=less needles!
Braves playoffs (Alex's treat mostly)
28 weeks of pregnancy-third trimester!

(another big reason why we love fall so much)

Lately I've been avoiding talking with people about pregnancy unless I am comfortable enough with them and can handle their less positive information-so it's gotten better. Alex is a wonderful husband and has been very loving as the scale shows greater numbers, bathroom visits are more frequent, energy levels have started to decrease and the nights have become more interrupted.

Being pregnant and working as a part time nanny I don't get out much or see very many people other than the moms at the bus stop-which is quite fun actually! They've been really kind to me and encouraging throughout this pregnancy and kind of seem like my new friends...weird, I know since they are closer to my mom's age.

We are still working on getting Baby Peach's room all set up. Alex painted it (with a little help from the Elders in our ward) a light gray. There's not really a theme, just gray and pink chevron that I just can't get enough of. Alex's mom ordered some pink minky bedding which I am so excited for because it's super soft and I'm hoping to get some nice black out curtains so she's the most comfortable.

Peach likes to move all the time and I don't know if it's as regular as you think because I'm not joking when I say all. the. time. But she's so camera shy because whenever I pull out my phone to video her moving she always stops or only moves a bit! Such a stinker. We love her and are so excited to have a little princess. We're still working on names and have a few we like so we'll see what we decide probably when she debuts in December.

I painted my pumpkin this year!

happiness to go

Other than those things, Alex and I are obsessed with all things pumpkin this fall. We discovered a new drink at Starbucks: Pumpkin Creme Frappaccino (no coffee) it's so good! He also bought all the ingredients necessary for making a pumpkin pie and I'm hoping to make some new pumpkin treat too I just haven't decided what yet-I'm sure pinterest will solve that problem for me in no time. We love this time of year and are almost in disbelief at how the time of having a baby and becoming parents is right around the corner! I hope we can handle it!
